Dry Hire: A Popular Choice for Self-Managed Events
Over the years, a significant number of our customers have chosen our Dry Hire service for their crowd control barrier needs. It's a cost-effective option that gives event organisers, contractors, and site managers full control over how their barriers are deployed on the ground. We deliver the barriers to your specified location, and from that point, distribution, positioning, and repacking ahead of collection are handled by you and your team.
What the Service Includes
Dry Hire covers the delivery of your barriers to a single agreed drop-off point on site. Once they're with you, you decide where they go and how they're laid out — ideal for clients who already have the manpower, equipment, and experience to manage barriers themselves. When the hire period ends, all you need to do is have them stacked and ready in the same location for our team to collect.
Where Things Can Go Wrong
While the majority of our Dry Hire collections run smoothly, problems do crop up — and almost always for the same reason. When barriers aren't repacked correctly ahead of collection, extra time, labour, and transport costs can quickly stack up (no pun intended). Incorrectly stacked barriers take longer to load, can require additional vehicle trips, and in some cases risk damage to the barriers themselves. These additional costs are passed on to the client, which is something we'd much rather help you avoid.
Common Stacking Mistakes
Below are some images showing the kinds of stacking issues we regularly come across on collection day. From leaning towers and uneven piles to barriers left loose across a site, these examples should give you a clear idea of what to steer clear of when packing your barriers down.
Get It Right First Time
To make life easier for everyone, we've put together a full set of stacking guides that walk you through the correct method step by step. Following these will keep your hire costs predictable and your collection day hassle-free. You can view them here: Stacking Guides – Fence Hire Southern.
